Tom was born in Auckland in 1945. He writes: “My younger days were fairly uneventful, with school, sport and the usual teenage pranks to fill in my time. I met Margaret in 1974 and we were married the following year. We have one son (Martin) who is married to a Swedish girl (Johanna) and they live in Sweden.

Both Margaret and I were teachers. Most of our teaching was in Wellington, where I was a principal at three schools. In holiday times, I have had a variety of part time jobs which include being a soldier (I got caught in ‘the ballot’), shop assistant, roof painter, office worker, factory labourer, farm hand, cleaner and electronic sign installer.

I have been a keen athlete (and still go for the occasional run), and competed with moderate success.

I have (along with Margaret) held leadership roles in my last two churches, and have been a believer all my life.

I’d be glad to chat about life groups at Holy Trinity: send me an email and tell me what’s on your mind.
